As her Alzheimer’s advanced, one of Mom’s constant companions was her doll. This was the doll she had when she was two years old. And every time I visited, I would find the doll in a variety of tableaus—dressed differently, posed differently, sometimes with stuffed animals for company, sometimes covered in blankets, sometimes with socks on her legs to keep her warm. I found this so charming I began to take pictures. The first photo is Mom at in 1920 – two years old with her Grandfather Malcolm McFee.
As Mom would say—Just delightful!
